Portland Soccer Club

Portland Soccer Club utilizes USSF certified referees for all of our 9v9 and 11v11 matches. We also have utilized a new program put out by the TN Soccer Referee Program which allows us to use younger referees for our small sided 4v4 and 7v7 games.

To become a USSF certified referee you must be 13 or older and complete an online training course as well as an in-person field session. The field sessions are held at various locations across the state, and you can attend any of them that works with your schedule. PSC is fortunate to have a certified referee instructor and mentor with our club and so we will typically offer the in-person course at Richland Park.

To become a TN Soccer Referee Program certified referee, you must be 11-12 years of age. You will also complete an online training course as well as an abbreviated in-person field session.  The fee for this course is $110 and includes a 2-year certification as well as a Capelli Sports referee uniform.

If you are interested in becoming a referee, please email [email protected] if you have questions or follow the link below to get registered.

Referee Abuse Prevention

As of March 1, 2025, US Soccer has implemented a new Referee Abuse Prevention (RAP) Policy that is effective nationwide for all sanctioned clubs. As we are a sanctioned club, we must adhere to the reporting guidelines set by US Soccer. PSC does reserve the right to take additional action if we feel it is merited.
